Miles In Missions

As C.A.R.E. Africa continues to grow we keep trying to find ways to create sustainability for the ministry.  Part of our mission is to invest courage into the voiceless and exhausted. We do this through education, medical care, empowerment, mentoring and discipleship. Thanks to many of you reading this blog, our empowerment programs have grown. We are not only empowering members of C.A.R.E. Africa but we are empowering men and women all over Nigeria.

Amos, in Ibadan, handcrafts all our wood products, which allows him to send his children to school. Josephine, in Jos, has polio and her handmade dolls allow her to send her children to school. Tolu, in Egbe, doesn’t have a job and the purses and wallets she makes allow her to feed her children. Widows at the widow’s ministry in Jos are supporting their families through the quilted bags and scrub tops sold on our online ETSY store. Kunle, learned to Tie N Dye from his Father as a child and now supports his family through the tablecloths he dyes and sews for us. There are so many stories like those I have just shared with you. Each uniquely crafted piece you purchase empowers a Nigerian. All the profits help grow the C.A.R.E. Africa ministry so it can provide support for more children, abandoned mothers and widows in Egbe.

All our products at our booth and online ETSY store are called “C.A.R.E. Africa products/crafts.” Our crafts are so much more than that now. They encompass amazing people all over Nigeria with stories that need to be heard. I want to brand our crafts with a name that represents these people and their crafts.  I need you to brainstorm with me to come up with a new name that will do justice to what these crafts truly represent. Please comment below on what new name you think our brand of products should have.  Let your children help too – make it a family event.  I look forward to seeing all your great ideas.
